Hotel Review: Hotel Preciados Madrid

About the Hotel
Hotel Preciados is a 4-star hotel in the center of Madrid. The hotel is located in a refurbished 19th century building, and I loved walking back to our hotel because the building's architecture was so pretty. If I had to pick one word to describe the hotel, it would be elegant. Walking into the lobby, you immediately feel the elegant vibe with the classy and minimalist decor, luxurious marble, and fresh greenery.
Location
Located in the heart of Madrid, you can easily walk to the most popular attractions like the Royal Palace in under 10 minutes. It is also 5 minutes from Puerta Del Sol, Plaza de Espana, and right off of Gran Via. There are hundreds of restaurants within a 10 minute walk, including some very delicious gluten-free ones!
Amenities + Services
Cafe Varela
Restaurant
The onsite restaurant, Cafe Varela, is one of the most historical restaurants in Madrid, dating back to the 19th century. The Galician prepared dishes and extraordinary wine menu make for an amazing meal. We had our Christmas dinner there and it was one of my favorite parts of our trip! The atmosphere and decor in the restaurant is both elegant and cozy, you feel right at home the second you are seated.
You can also have breakfast if you are staying at the hotel, and the options seemed endless. From fresh meats and cheese to cereal and pastries, you will definitely find something to start your day off right.
The hotel also offers room service courtesy of Cafe Varela, and I had hot food at our door within 30 minutes of ordering. The service was all around impeccable!
Services
For those looking to get down to business in Madrid, the hotel offers meeting spaces. And if you are driving your own car, they have a valet service so you don't have to worry about finding a spot in the center of busy Madrid.
You can also have laundry done, and the front desk staff are happy to set up any tours, reservations, or help you get tickets to see a Real Madrid game (thanks guys!).
Rooms
We stayed in a Penthouse with Terrace room at Hotel Preciados Madrid. It was luxurious, elegant, and so spacious. I loved how soft our bed was, the huge skylight in our marble bathroom, and the cozy robes and slippers waiting for us.
We even got extra pillows (#sidesleeperprobs) and I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud! Our window had a blackout curtain so good we accidentally slept until after 12PM a few days 😂 For someone with insomnia like me, it is a really nice touch!
Deluxe/Deluxe Twin
Rooms with street views and between 20-25 m2. The room features a king size bed (or two twin beds), marble bathroom, and large windows, along with typical amenities like SmartTV, coffee maker, mini bar, and free wifi.
Individual
This one person room looks out onto an internal courtyard. The double bed, marble shower, and free mini bar make for a great retreat for the solo traveler.
Penthouse with Terrace
Located on the fifth floor, this spacious 25-30 m2 room has a private terrace with panoramic views of Madrid's skyline. The room has a king size bed and marble shower with a skylight along with typical amenities like SmartTV, coffee maker, mini bar, and free wifi. This is the room we stayed in!
Premium/Premium Plus with Balcony
The Premium rooms come with views of streets Preciados and Ternera from a small balcony and are 24-28 m2. The Premium Plus rooms have views of the city through two large windows and a balcony and are between 32 m2 and 36 m2 in size. Both room types feature king size beds, marble showers with skylights, and balconies. I highly recommend this room if you want something a little nicer but don't want to break the bank!
Corner Suite
The room is located in the corner of the hotel, with a view of Preciados, Plaza de Santo Domingo, and Veneras. It has 6 large windows and 6 balconies/terraces for an amazing view of Madrid. The room has typical amenities like SmartTV, coffee maker, mini bar, and free wifi in addition to king size bed and marble bathroom.
Skyline
Located on the top floor, this room has two areas of 40 m2 each, as well as a 28 m2 terrace with panoramic views of Madrid's old town, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and the Cathedral Almudena. Definitely top notch luxury!
Comfort Rating
I give Hotel Preciados a high comfort rating for its luxurious pillow menu, soft beds, spaciousness, sitting areas (in premium rooms), and marble bathrooms. It's so convenient to have an onsite restaurant too for when you don't feel like trying o find food after a long day exploring!
Anxious Traveler Approved
Definitely. The staff spoke English and were so helpful with anything we needed. It is in a safe, central location and the comfort which makes it a perfect place to stay to escape the hustle and bustle of Madrid.
Little Things I Loved
I'm a sucker for good customer service, and Hotel Preciados had some of the best I have experienced. I appreciated how quick and thorough they were whenever we needed something, from getting Real Madrid tickets to extra pillows. And on Christmas Eve, they gave us a bottle of champagne as a gift!
